Company Overview and Mission

Jefferson Refinery LLC is a Texas Limited Liability Company formed in 2007 to re-develop an idle crude oil refinery near Winnie, Texas into the hub of a multi-faceted energy business.

Mission: Jefferson is committed to being a good corporate citizen, providing a safe and wholesome work environment for its employees, creating new jobs and careers for the local community, protecting our environment by producing clean energy for our community, environs and our nation. All of this and more we are committed to while at the same time maintaining efficient and profitable operations that results in a predictable and above market return on our investment capital to our Founders and supports the future growth and expansion of our Company.

History
  • Refinery was built in the 1940’s and expanded in the late 1970’s
  • Refinery was closed in 1981 following elimination of governmental small refinery subsidies and implementation of new pollution control regulations that necessitated large capital expenditures
  • Facility was purchased out of bankruptcy in 1986 but never re-started operations
  • Jefferson optioned the property in May 2007 and purchased 120 acres with eight storage tanks in August 2008
  • Jefferson purchased the remaining 346 adjacent acres in April 2008
