Combining our commitments to community involvement and
environmental responsibility, Jefferson Refinery intends to rebuild and modernize the Winnie refinery to process 30,000 barrels of crude oil per day.
By capitalizing on locally-sourced feedstock and using a design that
provides the flexibility and agility to easily alter product mix to meet changing market demands, Jefferson Refinery’s new Winnie facility will provide timely and efficient service to its customers and an economic stimulus for Jefferson and Chambers counties in Texas.
Who is Jefferson Refinery LLC
Jefferson Refinery LLC, was incorporated in June of 2007 for the sole purpose of purchasing and refurbishing the idle refinery located near Winnie, Texas – near I-10 between Houston and Beaumont.
In August of 2008 Jefferson Refinery purchased the old Winnie plant, which was shut down in 1981, from Independent Refining Corp. Despite several attempts in the mid-1980’s, Independent Refining Corp. was never able to bring the refinery back on line and the facility has remained dormant for the past twenty three years.
